Man was made for worship – worship that glorifies and enjoys the God who made us. And contrary to what many Churches have come to assume, God has not left us free to figure out how we are to worship Him, or worse yet, conform a Church’s worship to our feelings and desires rather than God’s clear word. The Protestant Reformation, arguably a reformation of worship in the church more than anything else, gave a special place of priority to the worship of God. It is our chief end, and as such God is jealous that we not only get the how of worship correct, but especially the Who.
