Eric J. Alexander, former senior minister of the St. George's-Tron Church, Glasgow, Scotland, authored the hymn texts and provides commentary on each of them. Dr. Paul S. Jones, prior organist and music director of Tenth Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, PA, composed the tunes and offers insight about the musical settings.
