Product Description
If we are honest with ourselves, we know that most of our worship, if not quite all of it, is unworthy of the God who is majestic in holiness. In fact, in light of many examples from the Old Testament, we learn that it is not altogether safe to come into the presence of a holy God. Consider the epitaph God wrote for Nadab and Abihu after they were incinerated: “Among those who approach Me I will show Myself holy” (Leviticus 10:3a). On occasion, God has shown Himself to be holy by striking down people who offer Him unholy worship. Until we recognize the inherent danger of coming into God’s presence, we have not really begun to worship Him in the purity of His holiness. God is not a warm glow, like the dying embers on the hearth. He is a consuming fire.
