“Those who first spread the gospel were accused of sharing a message that turned the world upside down. In this beautifully illustrated, whimsical story, Jonathan Landry Cruse introduces children to the same message and shows how it can turn their hearts right side up! Your children will want you to read this book again and again.”
—Marty Machowski, Family Pastor; Author, The Ology
“So many voices compete for our children’s affections. More than anything, we want them to see and love the beauty of the King of kings. In The Upside-Down, Inside-Out, Can’t-Believe-It Kingdom, Jonathan Landry Cruse introduces children to that King and his surprising kingdom through playful, truthful verse and beautiful illustrations from Joe Hox. I would love to put this book in the hands of every child in my congregation. It is a gift to parents who want to show their children that, in a world turned upside down, Christ’s kingdom is what sets things right.”
—Jason Helopoulos, Senior Pastor, University Reformed Church, East Lansing, Michigan
Author

Illustrator
Joe Hox was raised on a farm in southern Iowa, where he doodled whenever he wasn't spading thistles or feeding pigs. Everyone knew by his crooked hay rows that he would choose art over farming. Joe spent the first part of his art career as a teacher, and now his focus is illustration. He especially loves projects that share biblical truths with families.
