This Back to School Bundle includes four Scripture memory booklets -- 1 for adults and three for children.
Why should adults, or anyone for that matter, memorize Scripture? The average Christian home has several Bibles to choose from and many of us carry phones with Bible apps. But speaking an edifying word in season requires us to have a ready word on our lips. We need to internalize Scripture for that to happen. Memorization can also facilitate the lost art of meditation, which is a link (often missing) between our Scripture reading and prayer. As we commit these verses to memory, we are internalizing their truths, which in turn will renew our minds, transform our hearts, and cause us to increasingly reflect the character of Christ in our lives. This plan will help you memorize key passages of Scripture verses grouped around three main themes: sin and its consequences, our rescue and redemption with its attending benefits, and the blessings of the Christian life.
The Alliance is also pleased to offer a Scripture memory work plan for children. Highly adaptable, it can be used by churches, homeschool groups, and individual families. The plan is divided into 10 levels designed to go at each child's own pace, generally ages 2-12. Book 3 (Levels 8-10) typically corresponds to children ages 9-12.
There are nine months for each level, designed so you can start at any time of year. Each month is related to a particular theme of the Westminster Shorter Catechism.
Although many may use this for memory work contests, it is best if used with time for meditation and application.
